If you do not drive very much, you will want to scrap the notion that you need to change the oil every 3,500 miles. Instead, go with the six-month rule. Every six months, you should have the oil changed just to keep it fresh and free of pollutants.
Drive it Around the Block Once in a While
The engine needs to get warm sometimes. Give the car a start and then drive it around the block a few times. Do this for at least 15 or 30 minutes every two weeks or so. Your vehicle will be much better off as a result.
